When I use a simple DropDownList control, it can save it own state - this is clear to me.
BUT, what about a composite control that has 2 DropDownList controls for example ?
How should I save their state ?
Some more info about the question - Because I am responsible for creating the child controls in the
CreateChildControls() method, the child controls are being re-created from scratch in each postback. So, the drop downs loose their list of items of course. Should I manually save the list of items into ViewState ? This seems unreasonable to me becasue
a simple DropDownList control can save its own state without me writing any code so why can't I use this capability in a composite control ?
