currently I'm setting up a new HMC 4.5 environment very close to hmc documentation to run Hosted Exchange2007.
Everything is working fine so far, except the generation of the organisation's OABs.
When initiating an Update of an OAB I receive the following massages on the public folder server that is responsible for the oab generation:
OALGen could not find the address list with the Active Directory object GUID of '/guid=AE1DCEF7E8A85A458245DF56A18E56BD' in the list of available address lists. Please check the offline address list configuration object.
OALGen encountered error 8004010f while initializing the offline address list generation process. No offline address lists have been generated. Please check the event log for more information.
The Directory ..\Exchange\Exchange OAB\%GUID%
is being created, but remains empty. The public folder below "System Public Folders\OFFLINE ADDRESS BOOK\"
is also being created, but doesn't contain version directories.
It doesn't matter if I use the HmOabUpdate.exe Tool or force an update in Exchange Management Console.
The GAL, AL and OAB are created by CreateAddressLists_ procedure in Hosted E-Mail 2007 namespace.
As mentioned in other posts I extendet the rights for Exchange-Servers-Group on "All Address Lists" Container (and children) in AdsiEdit to "read" and "open address list" (with no effect).
It's also the same, if I create an AL and OAB manually.
A part of the GUID in the error message (least 16 chars) is identical to the GUID of the corresponding AL object.
Does anyone have a solution or an idea what to check?
Thank you very much.

I found a solution:
The property "addressBookRoots" in AD-container "Configuration\Services\Microsoft Exchange" was empty. When I put in the path to the AllAddressListe-container then it works.
Does anybody know, if HMC deployment for Exchange changes this property?
Thanks and Regards
