I have a website that I need to put into a CMS urgently. It is hosted on a windows 2003 server with IIS. I have tested a few cms sytems and I do not like the .net/sql ones. I know wordpress so I have setup wordpress/apache/mysql on the server and so far,
however the website I have has within it a jobs/vacancies section that runs off a sql database. is it possible to have something like this:
mysite.com - IIS, mysql, wordpress
jobs.mysite.com - IIS, sql
then within my wordpress, i would just use an iframe (i know it's not ideal) to open jobs.mysite.com
or will i have to buy a new domain - mysitejobs.com and do it that way? hopefully i can do it with a subdomain.
I appreciate this isn't the best solution but that's the way it goes sometimes.
wordpress iis sql mysql subdomain

You could use subdomain. You should configure your DNS settings and IIS website hosting headers to have jobs.mysite.com.
