I create a banner server, that retrieves a different image/flash code ("<img src="imageNumber3.jpg>") from an XML file according to a logic that already created as a DLL in this article
http://blog.sotirovic.com/index.php/asp-net-web-controls/adrotator-for-flash-banners/ . the DLL is a Web Custom Control and can display both images and flash files.
The problem with that control is that I don't really need the "display" part of the banner, and that's the reason why I decided convert this project into an HttpHandler.
HttpHandlers are relatively less expensive than the PageHandler used by the ASPX page. For a page to be processed at the server, it goes through a set of events (onInit, onLoad, etc.), viewstate and postbacks or simply the complete Page Life Cycle. When you
really have nothing to do with the complete page life cycle (like displaying images), HttpHandlers are very useful.
What I ask for is help on how to convert
code to HttpHandler.
Any help will be appreciete.
Thank you all.
