I've developed a new website in Visual Studio 2008, so after build success I want to publish this website in order to run on the internet. I use Visual Studio 2008 to publish this website with option 2 "Use fixed naming and single page assemblies", this
option makes aspx page and ascx control files become to dll, example : default.aspx become to App_Web_default.aspx.cdcab7d2.dll.
My question is: How do I add versioning to App_Web_default.aspx.cdcab7d2.dll ?
Anyone who encounter this issue already can point me the solution ?
Any comment much appreciate, thanks in advance !

You can use Web Deployment Projects, which has an option to "Version output assemblies".
See the following:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa479568.aspx (This is for VS2005 but most of it should apply)

I've followed your links above, that are much useful and I've got somethings from those links. But I'm confusing about Web Deployment Project that it assigns version in "Output Assemblies" tab just for "App_Code.dll", instead for "App_Web_default.aspx.cdcab7d2.dll"
or some other dll in "bin" directory. Have you ever met that issue in your web deployment ?
Thanks very much.

There are several options in Web Deployment Projects. Which one did you try out, and what results did you get?

I use "Create a separate assembly for each page and control output" option in "Output Assemblies" tab and uncheck "Allow this precomiled site to be updateable" in "Compilation" tab.
Very sorry for waste your time.

How can I enable this option in my old projects.
I just created a new project, where I have the options "Use fixed naming and single page assemblies". But I am not getting these options in my old projects. Please suggest how can I enable these options in my old projects.
