I am using VS-2008 Professional with .Net 3.5 SP1. I've been looking at some of the tutorials on MVC and they use the ADO.Net Entity Framework templates in the sample project. However, those item templates are missing from my VS. I did download EFB3SetupX86.exe
and tried installing that, but I get an installation error stating that .Net 3.5 must be installed frist. However, I do have .Net 3.5 installed (it was installed automatically when I installed VS.) My other templates are present, and yes, .Net 3.5 is selected.
I created the project using the MVC Web App template and following the tutorial after creating the little DB, I am trying to add a new Item and am opening the data item templates. I've tried creating both VB and C# MVC Web Application projects and the Entity
item templates are missing in both cases.
I've been using VS-2008 since the summer but am moving away from my old n-tier business objects type framework to MVC so have recently been reviewing tutorials and have only now noticed these missing templates. I'm not sure if I will be using these templates
on actual projects, but I am curious as to the reason they are missing from my VS.
Thanks in advance for help on this.

I am having the same problems. I have .net 3.5 SP1 installed and I don't see the ADO.NET Entity Data Model template. Has anyone figure out how to resolve this issue?

I found that in addition to SP1 for .NET Framework 3.5 i needed to
download and install visual studio 2008 SP1 for the templates to appear.
