How is everyone doing? I need everyone's help if at all possible on setting up and configuring ASP.Net, VS.Net and other stuff on my laptop.
First off, I used to be an active member of this forum, and I used to do alot of .Net programming, mainly in ASP.Net and VS.Net. I haven't programmed much in the last 2 or 2.5 years and I've forgotten alot of things. I just bought a brand new HP Laptop
last Saturday and I need major help on setting up .Net on my laptop.
Here are the specs on my machine:
AMD Turion 64-bit Ultra 2.1 GHz with 4 GB DDR2, WIndows Vista Home Premium w/ SP1, .Net Framework 3.5 fully updated, and VS 2005 and VS 2008 w/ SQL Server 2008 (I think...)
I'm still not a fan of Vista still. I know how to setup ASP.Net, the frameworks and the IIS on XP, but I have no idea on how to setup up and configure .Net, ASP.Net, IIS 6 or 7 (whatever version I may need) and other stuff on Windows Vista. [:S]
Can someone please help me out. I would much appreciate it!!!! I miss .Net programming....Thank you all in advance!!!

If you need to learn .NET and Microsoft.NET Technology my suggestion is try installing .NET yourself and face problem and resolve yourself that will give much confidence while you will be coding.
Installing any Microsoft Product is always very easy. Just follow the log file if you are in trouble.
So before installing clear the temp folder by typing %temp% from Run command and monitor any log file being created there. It will guide you exactly what you need.
What I can remeber is 5 yrs back while I was trying to install .NET in my desktop it took 7 days to complete the instalation. The reason was corrupted dll file in the media. Oops.
"Spen some time on that"
