I have a Windows Vista machine and i'm having all sorts of problems getting SQL Express 2005 and VS 2005 Pro to work together.
I think the problem is that I have not setup SQL Express 2005 correctly. I'm not really sure how this should be done. I want to develop a web app on my machine using C# and SQL Express 2005, then be able to publish this all to the web and have it working.
I've done this in the past but it must have been a fluke in terms of setting up SQL Express 2005. I know the code etc I need to connect to the database but I do not understand all the settings when installing SQL Express 2005.
I see things about Instance Name etc etc and don't really understand how it is working. When I install SQL Express 2005 is it giving me the option to create more than 1 instance? i.e I could have more than one sql express server running on the machine at
Is there any sort of tutorial or guide anywhere explaining the basics of setting up SQL Express 2005 so I can easily connect to it on my local machine from VS 2005 and then get it onto my web hosting?
I've created loads of apps using Access databases but I need something more robust, i.e MS SQL. I know the code to connect to a database once onto my web hosting etc, that bit is easy.
Any help at all I would appreciate so much! I know my post is probably a little confusing :-s
