We have a website running on a server which has over a 1000 secured users. We have had a request from a client to install the website on their local server allowing 4-5 of their own off site locations to access it privately. This is because they feel they
do not have enough bandwidth to support the internet connection.
Is it possible to put an ASP.Net 3.5 site on a server which 4-5 of their own sites connect to and give access to these sites and if so would they need specific software to run it on the server.
What do I do with the site to make it run in this situation as currently it points to the www. domain name which would not be relevant in this case.
The site currently uses the ASP.Net roles & authorisation via SQL Server and I guess this would need to be on the server too.
I don't want to say it's possible to do unless I know for sure, I guess this would be like a local intranet but have not set up a website on one of those before.
Thanks for any advice,

An intranet is the same as an internet site as far as ASP.NET, IIS and the application are concerned. You'll need to do quite a lot, install IIS, install ASP.NET, configure DNS, configure the database and move the site over.

Thanks for your answer,
Could you explain 2 things please, what do you mean configure DNS, I know these are the domain name servers which the url uses to point to the hosting server however, this would be an ordinary server that is being used so how would it work?
What would the www.etc be when its running on a in house server, would this need to be an IP Address or something. Can you recommend a good website to enable me to view this sort of set-up in detail?
