Any suggestions as to how I can resolve this issue?

Hi. First of all, you just cannot open and view the .aspx page by just double-clicking on it, because you have to either debug it or choose view in browser from your tool.
Then, if you are doing this, then go to iis manager and go to the properties of the virtual directory you've created, then open the ASP.Net tab and set the ASP.Net version to 2.0.50727
Hope, this will help you.

I have gone into the iis manager and the properties of the
virtual directory I have created, and opened the ASP.Net tab and set the ASP.Net version to 2.0.50727. I still cannot access the .aspx pages without it trying to open as an executable file in dreamweaver. No browser viewability. Any other suggestions?
