I created a Setup project and build a Setup.exe. For the first time, it works fine. However, after I played with it (remove, repair) a couple of times, it does not work any more. I also went to Control panel, used Add/Remove programs to uninstall my program.
After I run the Setup program and go through all the procedures, I find files(data file, dll, aspx) are not copied to the folder or virtually directory. Anyone has the same experience? How to solve the problem? Thank you very much.

Just check the configuration settings of the Setup Project again, may be the project output you have added in the Setup Project is no more present there.

Thank you for your reply. I did not run it in debug mode inside Visual Studio. Actually what I did was running the installer program on another computer.

You could try incrimenting the version number under properties. This might stop it doing repair/remove install and install the application over the top of the old one.
Thanks, it is one of the solutions. However, if I have already given a user the installler program, I should allow him/her to play with it and install/uninstall a couple times, right? I cannot change version number frequently. Is there something wrong with
my program or it is the design or bug of Microsoft? I used Visual Studio 2003 to build the installer program and the operating system is XP Professional.

Have you tried uninstalling and then using a new msi with the same version number? It could be a bad msi your testing with.
Is there a reason you expect the users to install and reinstall the app a lot?
