My customer is running an Active Directory forest with a root domain and a child domain. The plan was originally to keep the root AD empty apart from some security groups and a very few number of service accounts.
So, we are trying to install the MPS / HMC solution into the forest's child directory, since this will be the "usable" domain. However, When logging on to the server that will become the provisioning server I have lots of errors and I'm basically not able
to do anything.
I can not find any documentation on how MPS handles multi-domain environments apart from one section of the help file stating that the AD attribute "MPS Server config entity" is always created in the root domain of the forest.
So, if I move my infrastructure to the root domain everything works, but in the child domain lots of stuff fails. Does anybody know any recommendations or best practices around this?
best regards, Trond Hindenes
