Hello, is there any possibilty that I have deactivated Release mode in VS2008 ? Because it seems that there isn't such an option in Configuration Manager. I am using VS2008 prof sp1. If you want details, please ask me.
Thank you for your interest Michael, but i think i found out what was happening. I reinstalled IIS in Win Vista (i selected all modules just to be sure), and all of a sudden Release Mode appeared.
Just for the record, i had just one project with some external modules and 7 customized frameworks modules. And again thank you for your interest.

How many and what type of projects do you have in the solutions?
