I would like to add a varchar(max) description field to the albums. I know how to add this to the database, etc. Could someone please help with adding to the GetAlbums code. I do not want to pass the description as a variable, only the album ID. I am
using vb.net. Thank you.

Actually the answer of this all depends on your current architecture... do you have custom business objects, what's the method to retrieve data, etc? Tell us some more...
so global sketch:
Public Function GetAlbums(ByRef id As Integer) As List(Of Album)
// logic to retrieve data
Album album = New Album()
album.ID = id
album.Description = reader["description"]

Thank you very much for the reply. However, I already solved my problem before the post was approved and added just a few minutes ago.
I decided to go with the simpliest solution possible. I simply added a new datasource to the photos page, pulling in the description from the albums table and then used the query to limit it to the album parameter already being passed to the page. The
description field is now being displayed in a formview at the top of the page.
Now, on to my next problem, deploying the finished product to a hosted server...
