There is no need to have data in app data folder when the database is remotly? or am i wrong?

Yes you are right, there's no need to have data in app data folder. Your database can be hosted anywhere. To connect to your database you need to set the connection string where you specify the server where your database is hosted, your database name, credentials
and connection provider.
Since you are a novice I thought it would help if you went through the basics of how to connect to database in asp.net as in the above links.

If you are using a MsSQL (SQL Server) database
you can connect to your database by creating a Data.SQLClient.SQLConnection Object, with following connection string.
"data source=<SQL Server>;initial catalog=<DatabaseName>;user id=<SQLUserID>;password=<SQLPassword>;"

Ok this is what i did, i went to "Connect to database " in server explorer and write appropriate creditentials test my connecton and start working in hosted database, i think this is ok. So my next qustion will be when i deploy my application to web host
( exp. www.something.com) does i have to write connection sting to my config file?
