I've written an httpModule (serverside) that handles all requests except those within a specific set of virtual folders
The problem I'm having is that the default document for the base url (e.g. http://www.microsoft.com/) now returns 404 instead of the default document. (typing in the full path works fine) I'm testing IIS7 and set the default document in the webconfig...
<defaultDocument><files><clear /><add value="Index.aspx" /></files></defaultDocument>
Any thoughts on how to combat this? I have no control over the default document and would rather *not* have to have a setting to set the default document specifically for the module

Is the problem with the base URL only or with all default documents in other directories?

I actually solved it last night by uninstalling IIS7 and reinstalling it - I noticed that the problem appeared on *all* websites while testing. Strange issue, wish I knew the answer as to why it happened though. Thanks for your response.
