I just moved my developent application from one server to another VM ware which is in VS 2003.
When I tried to compile my application in VS 2003 in new VM ware, I get message stating "you may be missing some refernce or assebly file".
When I check on my project assembiles with that of older version, there are some dll missing.
I manually copied the entire bin folder from old to new machine and again compiled it. But still the same "refernce error" exists.
Can some one suggest as how I can mae sure all the dll are copied as such in my older server.
Any suggestion are welcome.

you can try manually adding reference to those dlls
Right click on root in solution explorer and select add reference, bnrowse to the dll files and click ok

1. First clean your solution and rebuild it
2. Instead of copy & paste the dll from outside you may do the same from solution explorer.

But after adding those dll, when I compile the application in VS 2003 they get removed from the file system.
can this is be avoided?

Is it possible that the dll causing the reference error is in the GAC on the old server?
