We are implmeneting Hosted Exchange for the first time with HMC 4.5. All test are successful, and email flows correctly in and out. However, all outgoing email is send using the IMCEAEX internal Exchange address instead of the SMTP address in both the
Sender and Return-Path fields. This seems to be a implementation wide problem, and we have tried creating users using both provtest with the .xml scripts and the sampleprovisioningui tool. All SMTP addresses are correct in the Exchange mailbox and Active
Directory. We have reinstalled all Exchange 2007 SP1 components and uninstalled/reinstalled the Hosted Exchange components of the provisioning tool. I know I am overlooking a simple switch or configuration to enable SMTP addresses instead of the IMCEAEX
address, but I cannot find any reference anywhere to this issue.

1.What's your client's Outlook version? did you try to use OWA to send mails?
2. Did you patch any rollup package for Exchange servers?
3.Can you try to use EMC to create a new user directly and then send mails ?

1. This was from OWA, we have not set up an Outlook client until this testing is complete.
2. We installed all of the rollup packages we could find. Update 4 was the latest.
3. We cannot use EMC to create the new user because the proper UPN is unavailable. Only the local domain is available in the EMC, where the guest email domain is available for the UPN in regular AD. Creating a new user in this environment has been corrected,
however, if we recreate a user with one of the affected UPN's, the condition returns.

1. How about try to use Outlook 2003/2007?
3. You mean all users in the organization have the same issue or some of them?

I experienced the same Problem in an HMC 4.0-Environment today. Environment was setup some time ago, has 2.000 users, everything's fine. Added a new Hub-Transport-Server, everything's fine. Added this new Hub-Transport as Source-Server for the Internet Mail-Connector
-> Mails sent through the new Server showing IMCEAEX-Adresses as Sender addresses. Message-Tracking shows, that Envelope-From ist correct, only Header-From is wrong.
So, it's definitely not a case of user-object-/mailbox-configuration, it has to do something with the hub-server.

according to this: http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.exchange.admin/browse_thread/thread/547f30bf00462125/a3d7fb412641a219?lnk=raot in my case it's a known issue in SP1 RU7 (which
was installed on the new Hub-Transport but not yet rolled out on the old one).

Had you installed UR7 prior to this issue coming up?
I installed UR7 last night, and now some of our clients are having this issue, and some aren't. As mentioned above and in many other forums, it appears there is a bug in the patch itself, and Microsoft is promising a fix in the next UR (gee thanks).
Thanks for any insights,

Yes, RU7 has broken Exchange auto-generated emails such as NDR’s and deliver confirmation receipts.
Also From addresses for mails from hidden mailboxes are completly bad (IMCEAEX***)
Suggest roll back to RU6 or waiting for RU8(will be released in the middle of May)
