The helpdesk guy is stopping by my machine later to install Visual Studio 2005.
what I have now is:
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600)
.Net 2.0 Framework (downloading now and will install when it finishes download).
What else do I need before installing Visual Studio 2005 on my machine? I want to try to get my machine as ready as possible so we dont have to spend 6 hours getting different software.

You need not do anything. You have Xp SP2.
Install VS2005 it will install all its prerequisits automatically.

Thanks for the information.
I see that I dont have IIS installed on my machine, is that included in the VS 2005 install?

Hi, IIS is a windows component which could be added any time if it is not already added (by going to Control Panel -> Add/Remove Windows Components). However, VS 2005 will install .Net framework and it has a built-in development server (Cassini). To run your
web application you dont need IIS on your machine if VS 2005 is installed.
