What I want to do is have the ability to remotely connect to my SourceSafe Database. I have followed numerous MSDN articles and also Alin's page with no luck. There are 2 servers & 1 laptop involved. I followed the articles listed here....http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms230206(VS.80).aspx
on the last page it gives you directions on "To Enable Access for an existing database on a different computer than the Web service."
The SourceSafe database is located on a Win2003 server, not the Web Server. According to the article I should be able to connect through my Web Server, then be able to access the database located on the Windows 2003 server.
I'm connecting using a laptop using Windows Vista SP1
Has anyone successfully set this up??? Any help would be appreicated.

Yeah for accessing through internet plugin you need to have webserver ie IIS should be installed.
The steps are simple
1. Go to VSS admin through options enable the internet access. To be noted it will create a webservice in IIS -->Default website --> VssService(Not exact)
2. Share the VSS database using file share.
3. In VSS 2005 --> options --> Source Safe --> Enable internet vss access
Then you can access through project --> open
