I'm pretty much 100% new to asp. I've been handed a working site from a client who has moved his hosting provider, and I am trying to implement it on new shared hosting.
I am getting the following error:
Exception Details: System.Security.SecurityException: Request for the permission of type 'System.Configuration.ConfigurationPermission, System.Configuration, Version=126.96.36.199, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' failed.

I have contacted the hosting provider, who have told me that they are set on medium trust, and cannot/will not move to full trust within a shared environment. To be expected, I agree, but it doesn't help me.
Is there anything I can do to fix this issue? I can't really move away from the hosting provider either, sadly.
Please please help if you can. Many thanks

Hmm, the easiest solution is to set the framework in the iis configuration from .net 1.0 to .net 2.0. Maybe this is the problem.
If not maybe this link helps you out of your problem:

I don't think your application will work under medium trust. You may have to find a hosting provider that supports higher trust.

Or at least it may need to be rewritten to use medium trust. The error you got is pretty much what you see when running in medium trust with an app that needs full trust. Some hosts will allow full trust.
