Help somebody please, I've been going mad over the past month. I recently installed MS VM 2005 on my server and now the ASP.Net Tab has completely dissappeared from the properties page in IIS, I can't run any of my .Net applications. I've tried going through
registery keys, registering IIS and re-registering IIS with aspnet and absolutley nothing is happening. I'm considering re-installing 2003 server at this rate, this is a last ditch attempt to see if somebody can help, apparently it's not an uncommon problem
so surely there must be a fix. I can't find them, if there are, in other forums. Can anybody shed any light on my problem.
A thousand thank you's to those who can help!

Friend, which is the OS you are using?.
Besides try this
1) Stop the IIS Admin service (and any services that depend on it)
2) Open C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\MetaBase.xml in notepad or your favorite XML Editor. _DELETE_ the line that reads ‘Enable32BitAppOnWin64=”TRUE”’
3) Start -> Run -> iisreset
Your tab should now be back and functional.

Did you try registering .net using command line(aspnet_regiis.exe).

I'm running Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition SP2.
I tried searching for the line‘Enable32BitAppOnWin64=”TRUE”’ in MetaBase.xml but the line didn't exist, is this because I'm running Standard Edition and not 64bit edition?

That was one of the first things I tried, I've also tried uninstalling both .Net frameworks 1 and 2 and then reinstalling one at a time to see if the tab appears. When I uninstall using aspnet_regiis -u the .Net 2 directory doesn't disappear, should I expect
it to or not? Should this only happen when I use the Add\Remove Programs utility?
