Does any one know if HttpModules the right choice for creating virtual URLs in .Net?
I'm trying to create a URL with http://domain.com/SOMEBAND where the directory SOMEBAND does not really exist. I want to pass SOMEBAND as a parameter into a single application page (bands.aspx?band=SOMEBAND) while
maintaining the illusion (or entry point) for each band. Much as Myspace.com does with myspace.com/someband
I've tried HttpHandler but it was really problematic, and it would still require me to create bunk directories at each url location with some file like SOMEBAND.band - where .band is a file extension I have to make up to satisfy HttpHandler, which seems
to depend on a file extension. I want to grab every URL and handle it.
Someone may say, "use ISAPI filter written in C++". But it would be really cool if I could do it in C#.net
I've found plenty of technical details and code examples. Looking for more high-level suggestion as to best practice.
