I have recently updated to .Net 3.5 - VS 2008 from .Net 2.0 and VS 2005. The tabs didn't display in 2.0 so I wasn't that concerned when my tabs didn't display in 3.5, but I am getting the error:
Error Creating Control - TabContainer1
Unable to create type 'cc1:tabContainer'. Could not load file or assembly 'System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
And when I insert an image (whether I use the <asp:image> or the HTML <img src="imagename.jpg"> ) the image displays in design mode but does not display when I run it on my local host. Can someone please give me some information on why it's doing this and
how to fix it? TIA

Friend, It has been solved in this thread.
Hope this helped you. Good luck!

Actually, that doesn't help. I have that file in my Web.config:
<sectionGroup name="system.web.extensions" type="System.Web.Configuration.SystemWebExtensionsSectionGroup, System.Web.Extensions,
Version=126.96.36.199, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35">
I have "Converted" the web site from 2.0 to 3.5 - so why is it still looking for the 2.0 version? Do I have to start a completely new project and pull my files from this into it? I should NOT have to do that! So is there some where else that I need to
go point to the right version? I think part of the problem is also that I just got a new laptop and went from Windows XP to Windows Vista (which I absolutely HATE - none of my programs from XP work correctly in Vista!) I know that in XP I had to go to IIS
and change my version for each project from 1.1 to 2.0 - but in Vista, I can't seem to find where/how to do this! Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Is there a place (thread, link, article, blog, etc.) that has the COMPLETE instructions for how to set up and install the .Net 3.5 Framework with Visual Studio 2008? If so, could someone please send me a link? Thank you!

See if this helps you atleast

I downloaded and installed the patches and am still unable to view my images! The main issue is that when I start a new project in VS 2008, I get this error message:
"The Website 'C:\...|mywebsitename' is configured to run on .Net Framework version 2.0. Do you want to upgrade the website to use the .Net Framework version 3.5? (You can change the target version later by using the Project Properties Dialog Box.) "
So since I upgraded from 2.0 to 3.5 WHY am I being asked on a BRAND NEW Project if I want to upgrade? Where in VISTA do I go to set my ASP.Net version to default to 3.5 instead of 2.0? I knew how to do that in XP, but in Vista, I can't find where to go
to set my versions for all of my projects. Is there a blog entry or thread on how to do this for conversion from XP to Vista? I REALLY HATE VISTA!!!
As if you couldn't tell, I am VERY frustrated with VS 2008 and Vista right now! I also don't know how to turn on the automatic quotation marks around ID's and other attributes in my HTML/ASP.Net code. By that I mean when you type in an attribute such as
Width= in VS 2005 it automatically generated the quotaion marks after the = sign so instead of having Width=100% I would have Width="100%" without having to manually type in the quotes! Where do I go to turn this feature back on? I checked the help (UN-helpful)
files and all I got was information about searching with quotes.
I would really appreciate some help with this. I just spent $200 to upgrade to VS2008, I invested in a brand new laptop that came with Vista and I know I need to learn how to use these tools, but I can't find good, clear, concise information on upgrading.
If anyone has any information on the upgrade BOTH from XP to Vista AND the upgrade from VS 2005 .Net v2.0 to VS 2008 .Net v3.5, I would greatly be in your debt! Thank you!
