In ASP.NET 2.0, Vis Studio 2, C# Web app, I have an .asmx file which contains a couple of WebMethod s.
When I edit the asmx file then "Start Debugging", the changes do not show up. To get them to show up, I need to close Vis Studio, then reopen it and "Start Debugging".
Is there a setting somewhere I can check? What's the cause of this behaviour?

If we create a simple test project such as Web Service project, does it have the same issue? Please make sure that the file we edit is saved before running it. We can select "Save all changes" before building by (Tools -> Options
-> Projects and Solutions -> Build and Run ).
You can try to rebuild Web Service and then click "Update Web References" in your caller project.
I look forward to hearing from you.

I tried explicitly rebuilding the file before debugging, but it did not help. (VS 2005 was already set up to save files before debugging). I did not try to build a test Web Service. The asmx involved is part of a standard Web App project. When I either
close VS and reopen it, everything is OK.
I think the problem could somehow be related to the version control software - SVN. I did discover that if I run SVN > Update, then run the debugger, the changes show up as expected.
