I'm new to ASP.net and have been watching the tutorials on using Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition. I just finished watching Lesson 08 where we learned how to connect to a database and edit, insert, and delete data. In that lesson an SQL database
was created using Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition. I had an Access Database on my machine so I wanted to test the lesson using an Access Database instead. I'm able to connect to the Access Database, set the properties in Visual Web Developer to
allow editing. When I run the code I can see the data in a gridview and I can see the Edit and Cancel buttons. I click on the Edit button, change the data and click Update, but the data doesn't change? Is there something special I need to do with Access
Databases in order to allow updates?

First - are you getting any errors?
Second- make sure the FOLDER where the Access database resides has had had Change permissions granted to the ASPNet user.

Most probably you are not passing a value to the WHERE clause in the UpdateCommand to tell Access which row to update - or a value that doesn't exist is being passed. One fo the problems with the videos is that they don't cover the basics. They show you
how to drag and drop to get "stuff" to work, without explaining *how* it works. You might be better off trying this set of tutorials:
