Hi, My intranet web site developed with Expression web and VWD 2005 worked fine for few months. Now for a mysterious reason came to a stop after different behaviours in separate computers at different time time till when we can see the information in the
pages but we cannot insert or modify them. It is not a problem with authorizations, nor seems to be related to viruses. The problem is with rendering the pages by ASP.NET 2, because we can see now from the home page and with all other pages (because they use
the same template with a master page) that, for example, the tree view menu is not rendered appropriately both in IE and Firefox. I can even see that the validation controls are not working, etc.....
Odd enough, The web site is working fine on my notebook were I developed it, but when copied again in the server I get the same problem. After many tries I decided to reinstall IIS in the 2003 server. When I started again Firefox I got this message:
XML Parsing Error: not well-formed
Line Number 1, Column 2:<%@ Page masterpagefile="main_page.master" language="VB" MaintainScrollPositionOnPostback="true" title="Centro de formação Profissional da UGC "Padre Prosperino Gallipoli"" %>
It says that the % sign in the first line is not correct. All the pages have got the same line because of the master page they are using.
The first three lines of the master page are as follow:
Thanks for any help

I might be off target here, but it seems to me that the first two lines are in the wrong order. The <%@ Master %> directive should be at the top.
Try this instead:
<%@ Master Language="VB" %>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html dir="ltr" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
