My httpHandler needs to create a new QueryString using the path parts in the URL which is why I am calling the RewritePath to set it. Unfortunately, calling this function on a page contain an asp:placeholder control causes the following System.Web.HttpException
" Cannot use a leading .. to exit above the top directory."
If I remove the control, the error goes away. But is there a way I can fix this and still be able to use the placeholder?

I found the problem. One of the controls that was added to my placeholder had a ImageUrl that contained "./" in the path.
