I added a new generic solution in VS 2005 by doing a File | New | Project | Other Project Types | Visual Studio Solutions | Blank Solution. Then I right-clicked the soluiton in Solution Explorer and Choose Add Project. I then choose a new Class Library
Project. As soon as I did this, it created the project, but did not add it to the solution. What the heck am I doing wrong? I will eventually add a couple more and then a web solution to it also. One would figure if you right clicked the solution in Solution
Explorer and chose to add a new project, it would add it to the solution right? Nope.

In 2005 and 2008 it defaults to only showing the project and not the solution if you only have one project. Check to make sure you have your options set to "Always show solution". It's under Tools -> Options -> Projects and Solutions. Is this the issue?
Is it just hidden?
Also if you would add a second project to the solution does it show the solution again?
I hope this helps.

projects are by default added to a solution. if u add multiple projects all the projects are added to the solution.
once u save to the solution . then there is a difference in opening the solutions.
For eg . when u create multiple projects all the projects are in the folder. now u can open site by pointing to the folder. if u do like this then the particular website alone open. Now if u have added multiple projects to a solution file then dont open
a project using file - > open website rather than that go the folder where the solution is physical present and open the solution. when u open the solution all the multiple projects attached with the solutions also opens.

That's just absolutely stupid (sorry I have to point out the obvious here...it is stupid design, just being completely open and honest). Why would Microsoft put that as a default as not showing up. It just makes no sense from a usability perspective and
I would think Gu's team would be annoyed themselves by this. But thanks for the answer.
