Is it possible if we take the following steps with our web app external users would be able to access it?
1. Add external users domain to our AD. Add i.e. email@example.com to our AD which is in a totally unrelated domain. Is this possible and if so what needs to be done on our end?
2. We have following address for our internal users
http://serverName I would assume that now we would have to register our domain name in order for external users to find, correct? We do have a registed domain but to gain access to the web app it would have to be like
http://ourapp.domain.com is what I'm thinking, correct?

Normally, you wouldn't have a server on your internal network being accessible from the Internet. You would set up a DMZ with firewalled access to the Internet and separate firewalled access to your internal network (i.e. two distinct firewalls) and your
external-facing web servers would sit in betwen the two, probably with a separate domain controller-pair alongside it. If you're new to all of this, I would strongly recommend getting someone it to talk about the best way forward for your particular situation.
