I've decided to work on a personal site project using the personal website toolkit. I did ctrl+f5 as it stated to do first. Now I want to add users, roles, etc, but I am receiving an error.
There is a problem with your selected data store. This can be caused by an invalid server name or credentials, or by insufficient permission. It can also be caused by the role manager feature not being enabled. Click the button below
to be redirected to a page where you can choose a new data store.
The following message may help in diagnosing the problem:
Unable to open the physical file "C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\App_Data\aspnetdb.mdf". Operating system error 32: "32(The process cannot access the file because it is being
used by another process.)". An attempt to attach an auto-named database for file C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\App_Data\aspnetdb.mdf failed. A database with the same name exists, or specified file cannot be opened, or it is located on UNC share.
I dont know what other process is using the database. It is in my App_Data folder and I've done nothing to it. It's been a long time since I've user a website toolkit so I dont remember if this was an issue or not. Is there a setting I'm missing?

Usually when I get that error it's usually one of two things.
First, did you run the aspnet_regsql.exe to configure your database? If not, you'll have to do that (the is located at C:\windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727)
The other one is changing the sql connection to you correct database. If you are using the default database with the project, you have to make sure you have SQL Express intalled for it to run.
Hope these help.

Apparently I had to detach other instances of the database using the sseutil tool. there were two other instances located deep in some microsoft.net folder somewhere. once i did the detach everything is running smoothly
