I get the error "The Web server does not appear to have the FrontPage server extensions installed" when I do the following:
1) When creating a new Website and I set the location to HTTP
2) When trying to publish the Website
I have already done the following:
1) Installed .Net Framework 2.0
2) Used the aspnet_iis -i command to make sure IIS is running 2.0
3) Checked and verified via Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs->Add/Remove Windows Components->Internet Information Services->Details->Frontpage 2000 Server Extensions
When I try to create a new website or publish a website I use
http://www.mydomain.com/virtualdirectory, is this perfectly fine or do I need to use something else?
Not really sure what else to do, so I am taking it to the forum.

The first time you push your web site, there is a couple configuration that you need to do.

I believe I have done these things, I am trying to find out what the next step would be.

Create the site first in IIS, enable FPSE for the site, then publish from VS.

Jeff, thanks for the response.
I may or may not of had to do this, but I installed FPSE 2002 on my Web Server. When I would click on the "Server Extensions" on the Default Site, it would say that "The server is running an out of date verison of FPSE" or something like that.
Anyway, to the best of my knowledge, I configured configured the FPSE for 2002. Now, I am not getting the error that FPSE is not installed, I am getting an the error "FPSE could not access the frontpg.lck" when I attempt to create a new Website via HTTP
or when I try to publish the Website.
For now, I am just creating a new Website through File System and the files are being physically stored on the Web Server. Yes, not the best way to do it, but this really is just trying to learn more about ASP.Net. I would appreciate some more insight
as I would like to do it the way everyone here does it, but right now the Web Server is not configured correctly.
