In HMC4.5, MS recommends uding internet facing Hub server to replace Edge server, what's your choice?

I have only used HMC with an edge server role and have had no problems. Also using ISA 2006 so the publishing/routing is fairly straight-forward in this scenario. In my opinion, if you install the anti-spam components on a hub transport server and expose
it to the internet, you have just removed one more layer of defense since the hub transport role is required to be joined to your domain. Whereas the edge role sits outside of the domain and uses a certificate to communicate. But is it a big deal??? I have
heard that the reason MS recommends this is that the edge role will be removed once they release Threat Management Gateway (ISA replacement), which will include the anti-spam component.
There's two-cent's worth...
