I implemented an HMC 4.5 environment and added the web hosting namespace, providers, etc. like I did successfully with HMC 4.0. I installed a Web Server on Windows Server 2003 R2 and when I want to add the Server Classes (AddServerClasses) I receive the
following error message. I hope anything has an idea or solution what to do and what to try. I need this thing up and running soon and would appreciate any suggestions.
<errorContext description="The element 'resourceGroup' in namespace 'Add Resou
rce Group To Candidates_Request.xsd' has invalid child element 'groupDescription
' in namespace 'Add Resource Group To Candidates_Request.xsd'. ***Xml input p

s" procedureExecId="48" providerSource="Microsoft.Provisioni
ng.Providers.CoreRMOProvider" namespace="CoreRMO" type="read
scription>Group of all msIISWebServerClasses</groupDescription></res
procedure="Add Resource Group To Candidates"/>
<errorSource namespace="Web Hosting Resource Manager"

Apparently you and I are the only 2 having this issue. The webhosting portion of HMC/MPS has worked fine for me in the past, however as of 4.5 I get this error.
The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is MSFT updated the namespaces and providers, but left in the old XML requests.
I'm REALLY hoping that with 4.5 that the web hosting bug of a "." in the IIS path is fixed (i.e you couldn't have your organization name domain.com, only domain, or domain_com).
Anyone at MSFT?

The last post basically explains the issue that you are facing. In the transision from HMC 3.5 to 4.0 the MPS Architecture hase changed with among other things bringing Managed and Hosted Namespaces. Also the MPS DB name changed. So basically Resource Management
for Web and Data Hosting doesn't work any more.
In 4.0 I just got around this by adding an old HMC 3.5 MPS DB on the MPS 4.0 SQL Server [:)]
