When using the SqlMembershipProvider
Membership.GetUser().ProviderUserKey returns a GUID. When using the ActiveDirectoryMembershipProvider
Membership.GetUser().ProviderUserKey returns a SecurityIdentifier. Many of the ASP.Net Starter Kits found on this web site do not function correctly when switching from SqlMembershipProvider to ActiveDirectoryMembershipProvider
because the database tables are setup to expect a uniqueidentifier (GUID) but instead are passed a SecurityIdentifier.
Can someone provide me with some general steps to follow on how to convert a Starter Kit web application that uses Roles and Membership to use ActiveDirectoryMembershipProvider?
