my company have two web application for MPS, one is for reseller and another for customer web application. I would like to combine it to one web application only, upon log in the web application will know what role is the current user belongs, reseller or
customer role. Is there a way to determine if the user is on reseller role or customer role? if yes, how?

Yes It's possible,
In database you add one more column in the table of where the user information stored, this column you specify user type(reseler / customer) during registration time, when the user login then you check the userid with the newly
created column(ie, whether this is customer / reseler) by this method you can find the user.

You can use the following method Managed Hosting::GetOrgType to work out if the user is a reseller or customer.

Take a look at GetCallerUiRoles procedure. It exists in couple namespaces (Hosted Active Directory, Managed Hosting). Procedure returns UI roles (reseller admin, customer, etc.) for calling user. All solution's UI examples use this procedure to determinate
what sort of user is logged on.
