I have a problem with ASP.NET that makes me crazy. I have already spent some ours in doing a research without any success. The problem could be defined as follows:
I am creating a web based FTP client application and I am using the FtpWebRequest class functionality. Currently it works fine and I have decided to add an ability to show the raw FTP protocol comunication to the user. Since I use the FtpWebRequest class
I don't handle the low level FTP commands and as I know the only way to catch the FTP traffic is to use some kind of network sniffer, right? I found an easy way to set the entire application to log the network traffic into a file by using the web.config settings:
This solution works fine. I am able to setup a file and all the network traffic is logged into it. However, I need to be able to pull only the traffic generated by the current request. In other words when the user changes the current directory I need to
catch only that raw FTP comunication. Make sense?
I am trying to create a custom trace listener instead of using the global settings in the web.config file, but without success. Please could anybody help me!
Thanks in advance,
