I have a web site that works fine when deployed on a server in the United States.
When the same ASP.NET web site is deployed on a server in Germany, the following line of VB.NET code fails when the date, strDate, is after the 12th of the month:
The date as a string, strDate, is in the format "4/24/2008". This is correct for United States English, but incorrect for German. In German, the strDate should be "24/4/2008". Can the line of VB.NET code above be replaced by:

I want the web page controls to display in German format. So I can't really set the CurrentUICulture to "en-US" there, I do not think. However, I might try what you suggested.
The ASP.NET code behind reads an XML file that has the date in American English style. But CDate fails to convert it on the German web server. See the following sites for more information:
