I have Visual Studio 2005 and .net framework2.0 as well as .net framework 3.0 installed on my Machine. The operating system in Windows XP.
After installing WebDeployment Setup I don't get "Add Web Deployment project" in the menu. Referring to the earlier post I also tried with the correct version mentioned there, but it does not work.
Please help me locate the correct version of web deployment setup.

It has installed all the files in the respective folders mentioned by you and that msdn link. My web site is local IIS based.
But still I am not able to see the option to add web deployment project.

How are you trying to find the "add web deployment project" menu item? You won't be able to add a WDP using the File->New Project option. Do you see the option to add a WDP when you select your website in the Solution Explorer and right click to bring
up the context menu? (It should be underneath Build Web and Publish Web.) Make sure you are not selecting the Solution itself...the menu option will not appear for it.
Also, another way to check that WDP is installed is that Help -> About should list it as an installed product.

I'm not sure what would be going wrong. Have you tried uninstalling WDP (through Add/Remove Programs) and reinstalling it? It shouldn't affect your VS install and it's a quick process. Please make sure if you do so that you are installing the correct
version. We have one released for VS 2005 and one for VS 2008. I believe these are the links:
VS 2005 WDP: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/asp.net/aa336619.aspx
