I'm confusing about how to handle localzation for error messages in my system design:
- I put all the labels, text message in resource file to get by culture, it's ok.
- But some error messages are currently returned from the stored procedures (SP) (based on the input lang to return the right languge).
Personally, I think SP should contain something related to bussiness rules only, not presentation, and the SP just need to return the error code.
But it's hard to move those error messages out of SP. for example, an error message like "account's credit must be less then upline preset one (12344)"
Then, the problem is the number 12344 is retrieved in the processing of SP. what if this message is moved out side Sp to resource file? I must have another SP to get the right number according to the right error code. It's paintful.
There're still some more complicated error messages with more than 1 number
Any hint for me, brothers
