Hello i currently have a website that i wish to deploy via Windows Installer package, so that a user can install it on their server and run the website. I took the following steps.
I am really stuck with this problem. Any help would be appreciated, i'm sure i must be missing something somewhere.

Instead of creating web setup project you can use publish method
It is simple way to do that

Based on your description, I think the website is installed correctly. Because you can request it fine, but cannot log in. The issue might be related to the database or the connection string.
You can follow the steps Benson suggested on your thread:
I hope this helps.

I tried using Publish method through visual studio.
However all it did was sent a copy of my files to my USB stick. What would i do with the files then, do i just paste them into the WWWROOT folder on the IIS? That seems a bit messy, i just want a simple way that my client can put the website onto their computer
and view it through IIS.

Thanks for your response.
Did you get any error message? If we use the express database file in the App_Data folder and use it with relative path, it works most time.
But if the account used to access database on the client doesn't have right to the database, it will login unsuccessfully.
