Basically I want to people to be able to search by location etc. on the home page...
I have run into about a million errors.. Could someone help me map out what I need to do?
Thanks from a beginner.

Basically the way the search works is you have your input area, then it transfers to the objectdatabase,
that calls several functions in App_Code/BLL/Ads.vb (they gave it a section get ads)
That points to your storedprocedure GetAllAdsByQuery (This is where the search parameters are determined)
I had no real point to have a search term so I change the search term to location right in the stored procedure and it works beautifully.

My suggestion to anybody that is making changes is to test ever tier of the application seperatly.
1.First, change the SP. Make sure that works WELL!
2.Refresh your XSD files, The first SP in the list is the one that defiens the schema of the datatable
3.Force a build, this will return a list of compile-time errors of all the code that needs to be changed (Mostly will be in the
BLL\ads.[cs | vb] (assuming you're dealing with ads)
4.Start making these changes in the BLL
5.Any data component (DataView / ObjectDataSource..etc) will also need to change to reflect the new fields added/renamed/changed.
One Step at a time ;) dont fix it all in one step..too confusing

This is what I did just to bypass search term, in the storedprocedure getalladsbyquery I used this,
That will still keep the textbox, but now it only searches in the location column.
