I need to add the build version number to the setup.exe file.
This is required because we release new versions frequently as part of Defect fixing. So we need to find out the version of the setup file by right clicking on it rather than installing it.
Ours is a web deployment project, we are creating a msi and an exe file.
Can someone tell me how it can be done from Visual Studio 2005

select setup project and in properties,
enter the value in version field.

I tried it, but the version number is displayed in the .msi file and not in the exe file.
We require it in the setup.exe and not in the .msi.
