Our project is in production also at the same time we are migrating it in 2.0, so during the migration period if any issues come form production we need to fix it and release it on 1.1 which will require one machine with 2003, so if we are successfull in
providing the same from vs 2005 we will save one licenced installation.
following are the steps which i have followed
1. Their's no new feature of 2.0 used in the app
2. The app is simple converted in to 2.0 from 1.1 through wizard
3.I am using the ouput of publish option for deploying in 1.1 3.The initial (yellow screen) error of web config attributes which are not supported in 1.1 have been removed by removing the attributes from web config.
4.Now i am getting error as "Could not load the assembly 'App_Web_bsmaxddn'. Make sure that it is compiled before accessing the page. " could u help me out of "Could not load the assembly 'App_Web_bsmaxddn'. Make sure that it is compiled before accessing
the page. "

After converting the VS.NET 2003 project in VS.NET 2005, we cannot publish it to the .net 1.1 virtual directory. What we can do it use MSBuild to build the .NET 1.1 application without conversion. For your reference, I provide the following links. Hope they
are helpful to you.
