Huh ..... I have seen many articles about image resizing but waste ... Actually my scenerio is .... when user upload a picture through file uploader control .... i want to make two image from him .... one according to 500 * 500 and other thumbnail of size
70 * 70 .... but my problem is when i make new image .. it scales according to width which is 500 ... i want to make same size like 500 for both width and height .... with best resolution and no picture distortion .. .some one please help me on this top ...
i m using asp.net vb ....

You really can not make an image that is 640 x 480 look good in 500 x 500. You are going to have to flexible on the size. The width and height should be in the same ratio. For example the 640 x 480 image would look fine at 500 x 375 but we be distorted
at 500 x 500.

I always make it fit a constraint. Since my sites are usually limited in width I choose that as my limiting contraint and then select a height to match the ratio of change in the width. Of course if the image is smaller than the constraint, then I just leave
it as is.
