I'm writing a set of tools to ease the problem of translating websites. Most of my stuff is working fine, but when I set the "language" option to (e.g.) "it-IT", Firefox works fine and IE7 doesn''t.
Because I do a little culture-sensitive parsing (date/time strings), I can see that Firefox causes my IIS servers ASP.NET code to set the current thread's culture to "it-IT", just as it should. In addtion, Google shows me Italian news.
However, IE7 doesn't change the culture from "en-US" even though I've changed the Language options in the Internet Options dialog. In addition, I even set the computer's preferred entry (keyboard) language to Italian. Didn't help.
What's up with this? Surely IE7 doesn't have a bug here?
