I'm currently developing web based application for some mobile devices (hand held scanners and smart phones) but running into an interesting situation. when the page is viewed on the smart device, the gridview doesn't get displayed. does IE on these
mobile devices support gridviews...and if not... whats an alternative control i could use ??...

my current project is all web based and i did start it with a "web site" template. I don't see any "mobile" specific tools though in the toolbox... (using vs 2005)

Make sure it is ASP.NET Mobile Web Form not Web Form, they all have the same extension .ASPX. The Mobile Web Forms ToolBox is only available when Mobile Web Form is selected in Visual Studio.
