I have a new machine with Vista business installed. I have installed VWD 2005 express and sqlserver express etc
Web sites developed on the old (XP machine) being tested in local mode on the new Vista machine open on pages that do not contain a reportviewer but the following error occurs when I try and open a form with a report viewer control
An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.
Exception Details: System.Web.Hosting.HostingEnvironmentException: Failed to access IIS metabase.
The process account used to run ASP.NET must have read access to the IIS metabase (e.g. IIS://servername/W3SVC). For information on modifying metabase permissions, please see
I have re run aspnet_regiis.exe -i and nothing changes.
What am I missing? Thankyou

Wouldn't you know it. After posting the problem I continued to look for solutions and found it on the forum
The solution is to open VWD as an administrator.
