i use a gridview on my blog to display the most recent ten entries on the blog. but, my code comes out with lots of tables and i'd like to move to an all-CSS layout using only div's.
i downloaded the CSS Adaptors but even that says the gridview will still use a table but a cleaned up version. it does note that i could rewrite the adapter to use only div's in the gridview but that sounds like it may be beyond my technical expertise.
same story with the repeater in the CSS adaptor.
is there any way around this? i want clean code like on Scott Gu's blog. from what i can tell, he uses CSS for layout but it does not look like a gridview.

I suggest you to forget about rewritting the adapters.
And try to give a look to the Repeater Control
If you just use the gridview capabilities to display the most recent entries on your blog, then using the repeater control will allow you to get rid of the tables.
Hope it helps !

I agree with landhar -- if you are creating a list, the proper xhtml element to use would be the ordered list < ol > element with several < li > list elements within it. the Repeater is a great way to achieve this.
