i have a development machine that i have been using for about a year now. i still have my old development machine also. the other day i attempted to run one of my web apps in visual studio 2003 and i received an error:
Error while trying to run project: Unable to start debugging on the web server. The COM+ registry database detected a system error
i had not made any changes to the webb app. i decided to try it on my old system and received the same error. i even tried creating just a blank web app and still, i get this error. soooo.....i decided to get a fresh machine and i installed vs 2003 on it
with service pack 1. i created a blank web app and tried to run it and got this error:
error while trying to run project: Unable to start debugging on the web server. Catastrophic failure
since all three machines are unable to run even a blank web app, i'm wondering if something changed on our network or if a daily security update has affected me.
can anyone shed any light on this?

Check the event log to see if there are any clues.

i am able to step through the .cs files just that the aspx pages are not being stepped through, the aspx pages are just displayed....and i fear since the tables contain menu descriptors it may be the case that i would miss an inline code somewhere
